Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi are coming back for Sankranti, and the trade is already betting big on them. Their next film, January 12 Vidudala, is set to do the biggest pre-release business of Venkatesh’s career.
The film is targeting a January 12, 2027 release for Sankranti.
₹100 Cr+ From Telugu States Alone
In the Telugu states alone, the film’s business is set to cross ₹100 Cr. That’s a record number for a Venkatesh film.
Distributors are so confident about the combination that they’re offering prices close to what the producers are quoting. That kind of confidence is rare and shows how strong the brand of this duo has become.
Way Ahead of Aadarsha Kutumbam
The pre-release business for January 12 Vidudala is way higher than that of Venkatesh and Trivikram’s Aadarsha Kutumbam, which releases on October 30. Even with Trivikram on board, the Anil Ravipudi combination has the bigger pull with distributors right now.
A Sankranti Formula That Never Fails
The reason for the excitement is simple. Every time Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi have come together for Sankranti, they have delivered a massive blockbuster.
F2 (Sankranti 2019) was a huge family entertainer and one of the biggest hits of that year. Sankranthiki Vasthunam (Sankranti 2025) went even further, becoming one of the biggest grossers in Telugu cinema history and setting a record for a regional Telugu film.
The Cameo That Added More Magic
The magic continued this year too. Venkatesh played an extended cameo in Anil Ravipudi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu with Chiranjeevi, which became another sensational Sankranti blockbuster. His portions were among the highlights of the film.
That makes Anil Ravipudi one of the most successful Sankranti directors in Telugu cinema, and Venkatesh his lucky charm.
Sky-High Expectations
With this track record, expectations for January 12 Vidudala are sky high. Families have come to see a Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi film as the perfect Sankranti outing.
If the film lives up to the hype, it could become one of the biggest grossers of Tollywood.
